Who is our client?
Anamnesea is a premium Greek tourism brand known for curated journeys through the country’s historical sites, landscapes and culinary destinations. Its expansion into China created an opportunity to introduce the brand to a new audience without losing the authenticity behind its travel experiences.
Because this was the company’s first Simplified Chinese localization program, the launch required more than direct translation. The Chinese website needed a consistent voice, a locally relevant identity and messaging that felt natural to prospective travelers.
What was the challenge?
Anamnesea had no established Chinese tone of voice, terminology rules or localized brand guidelines. The source content was rich in Greek cultural references and included destination descriptions, food traditions and activity itineraries that needed thoughtful adaptation.
The copy also had to remain persuasive within website character limits and comply with Chinese advertising regulations. Repeated content appeared across multiple files, while the absence of a Chinese brand name and tagline added a strategic branding challenge.
What was our solution?
Textsprime began by studying the existing website and clarifying the desired brand position with the client. A China-specific style guide and terminology glossary were created to establish voice, preferred expressions and consistent handling of recurring content.
Tourism linguists with marketing-writing skills combined translation, editing and transcreation to make the content engaging for Chinese readers. Translation memory and centralized tools reduced duplication, while an in-house legal review removed risky absolute claims and preserved the intended marketing impact.
The team also developed and tested localized name and tagline options through internal and external feedback before finalizing the new Chinese identity.
What were the results?
Anamnesea launched its Chinese website on schedule with no reported language quality issues. User research found that 87% of respondents considered the localized name appealing and aligned with the brand’s premium travel image.
Terminology and translation memory reduced localization costs by about 25%, while average session duration during the first three months was 40% higher than expected. The successful launch also created a foundation for planned Traditional Chinese expansion in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
